Barrow County Superior Court Judge Currie Mingledorff has decided to recuse himself from hearing Jim Cooley's appeal of a Barrow County Board of Elections decision that affirmed Winder City Council member Charlie Eberhart's city residency. Thieves rob area churches of AC

Thieves caused $75,0000 worth of reported damage to a Barrow County church last week when they made off with five of the parish's air conditioning units. No determination on fire truck axle problem

A local vehicle repair shop was unable to determine why a rear axle suddenly fell from a county fire engine onto Hwy. 316 during rush hour on Sept. 28. Former Apalachee High School English teacher Ashley Payne now has to find another way to fight in her case against the Barrow County School System. City of Auburn approves millage rate

The City of Auburn unanimously approved a resolution to adopt a millage rate of 4.931 mills. City clerk Rafael Avalos made the recommendation at a city council meeting Thursday, Oct. 6, at city hall. This will be the fourth year in a row the city council has voted to keep taxes below five mills.
