Enrollment in Madison County schools increased by 45 students between the 40th and 60th day of school this term. The Braselton Town Hall and the Hoschton City Hall will both be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24-25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays. School board OKs $5.6 million short-term loan

The Jackson County School System will get a $5.6 million short-term loan while it waits for more local property tax revenue to be collected. New homes being built in Jackson County have declined drastically over the past seven years with 810 permits being issued in 2005 and only 21 being issued so far this year. The West Jackson Fire Department responded to the following incidents last week: •vehicle accident at a Ga. Hwy. 53, Braselton, address, where two vehicles were off the side of the roadway, near the intersection of Curk Roberts Road.
