A Barrow County SWAT team was called out Jan. 30 in reference to a man who had barricaded himself at a Kings Court residence after reportedly forcing his roommates out and discharging a firearm. Community & Southern Bank closing one Winder branch

The Carrollton-based bank that a year ago picked up all but a few of Peoples Bank’s properties is closing one of its Winder branches. It appears the burglars who vandalized the Chevron gas station at Ga. Hwy. 316 at Kilcrease Road in Auburn last week did so to drink beer. A store employee told responding deputies that she arrived at the business just before 8 a.m. on Sunday to find the front door had been broken.
