Students at Apalachee High School made significant improvement in their passing rate on the End of Course Test for Math during the first semester. Statham council approves match for DOT grant for school street paving

The Statham City Council Tuesday night unanimously approved an expenditure of $35,000 to match a $125,000 Department of Transportation grant that will fund the paving of a portion of Jefferson Street adjacent to a new Barrow County middle school. Sheriff's deputies responded to an apparent prank at County Line Elementary School at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a report of someone shooting a firearm outside of the school.
