Margaret Lurline Duck Tanner, 92, died February 8, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Born in Braselton, Jackson County, on March 16, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Lester Gordon Duck and Emma Mae Cruce Duck. A woman said a man impersonating a police officer pulled her over Sunday night in Jackson County and searched her “inappropriately.” The woman said she was driving at B. Winder’s city administrator on Feb. 8 fired the city’s human resources director in a cost-saving move.
