EPD fines county for Zion Road project

Jackson County was fined $13,080 by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division due to violations at the Zion Church Road project in West Jackson. The board of commissioners approved a consent agreement Monday night and agreed to pay the $13,081 fine. County manager Kevin Poe said BMK and E.R. Snell will reimburse the county for the fine. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating the death of a Jefferson woman, who died Thursday morning in the Hall County Jail. Man spotted stealing metal from Pendergrass barn

A DEPUTY went to a Pettijohn Road, Pendergrass, address last week when three men were spotted stealing metal from a barn.
