A Madison County girl was bitten by a poisonous snake while playing outside at a friend’s home April 21. A Madison County man was severely injured in an accident on Rogers Mill Road recently. Heath Patrick, 29, of Hudson River Church Road, was helping a friend do some shingle work on his roof April 16. Madison County man killed by alleged drunk driver in Franklin County

A Madison County man was one of two fatalities in a Franklin County wreck last week caused by an alleged drunk driver. Billy “Joey” Hart, 41, Hull, died in a three-vehicle accident on Hwy. 17 in Canon April 16. The man who allegedly robbed the First Citizens Bank inside of Ingles Wednesday morning was arrested Friday. Madison County Sheriff Kip Thomas said James Edward Lawson, 46, Athens, has been charged with armed robbery.
