Piedmont Circuit to get fourth judge

After four years of waiting, the Piedmont Judicial Circuit will get a fourth Superior Court Judge. The passage of Senate Bill 356 created a new judgeship for the Piedmont Circuit as well as a third judgeship for the Bell-Forsyth Circuit, according to Rep. Tommy Benton (R-Jefferson). Kerry Haggard of Commerce was sentenced in U.S. District Court in New York Monday to more than six months in federal prison for the sale of counterfeit horror movie posters and lobby cards.
