Authority hires lawyer for water contracts

The Barrow County Water and Sewerage Authority approved an hourly contract for an attorney to execute wholesale water contracts with Auburn, Braselton, Statham and Winder. Hazmat spill leads to closure of I-85 in Braselton

A loaded tractor-trailer caught fire early this morning on Interstate 85 in Braselton and spilled almost 300 gallons of corrosive material onto the shoulder of an on-ramp in Barrow County. The Winder Police Department is receiving complaints from citizens who have become a victim of a telephone scam.
