The Banks County Commissioners, along with Keep Our Mountains Beautiful -Bank County, is hosting a Free Tire Roundup on Friday, June 8, from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Road Department located at 419 Otis Rucker Road, Homer. Comer woman arrested after domestic dispute

A Comer woman was arrested on battery charges recently following a domestic dispute with her husband. Edna Delois Allen, 55, 1528 Cherokee Road, was charged with one count of simple battery FVA. DFCS reports county poverty stats to BOC

A letter submitted recently to county commissioners by Madison County Department of Family and Children Services detailed the county’s poverty numbers. DFCS board chairperson Shelia Collins submitted a letter to county commissioners requesting no budget increase for 2013. DFCS is requesting $33,500 for 2013, the same as this year. The letter ... Madison Co. sticks with Blue Cross

Madison County commissioners agreed May 24 to renew the county’s employee insurance services with Blue Cross/Blue Shield with no additional costs to employees.
