The Georgia Department of Transportation recently announced that it has awarded bids to contractors to repave several miles in Madison County. Pittman Construction Company, Conyers, was awarded the bid for $488,639 with a completion date of Dec. 31, 2012. The Braselton Planning and Development Department issued 11 building permits for new residences in April — one of the highest number of building permits issued in one month in about two years.
