Jobless rate creeps upward

Data released last week by the Georgia Department of Labor indicates that the unemployment rate for Jackson County ticked up slightly between June and July. Three rabies cases have been confirmed in Madison County within the past week, county leaders said Friday. Two of the cases involved skunks at locations on Applebaum Way and Charles Hart Road in the Colbert area. A woman told Braselton police that her husband and his girlfriend were both in possession of marijuana and could be found at a local restaurant, according to an incident report.
