Man dies after traffic stop

A man who was a passenger in a car stopped by a Jackson County deputy on Sunday later died at a Gainesville hospital. Chad Marshal Burnette, 38, reportedly jumped out of the car while the deputy was checking identification and ran from the area. Spending by the City of Auburn would be cut 14 percent in a budget to be presented to the city council Thursday. The council reviewed the budget last week and a final vote is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.
