JACKSON County beat East Jackson Thursday in one of the final regular season contests of the year and it remains to be seen if these two rivals’ paths cross anywhere in the postseason. EAST JACKSON picked up another win over its closest rivals, beating Jackson County Thursday on senior night 25-20, 25-18 in area play. THE JEFFERSON volleyball team finished strong over the weekend to win the silver division of the Ampest Spikefest in Conyers. The Dragons closed with straight set wins over Mt. JEFFERSON closed its regular season with a 1-0 out-of-region loss to North Oconee Monday to finish 14-14. Morgan McKinney went 1-for-3 with a double, managing the Dragons’ only hit. After an against-all-odds comeback last week against Rabun County, the Commerce Tigers advanced to 4-0 heading into their first region 8-A matchup of the year.
