Madison County to receive $543,000 for local roads

The state government has changed its method for allocating money for local roads. BOC chairman Anthony Dove reported Monday that Madison County will receive a $543,713 grant for 2013 through the Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG). Madison County commissioners postponed a decision Monday on whether some county employees could lose their excess vacation days. In years past, county government employees had no limit on vacation hours that could be carried from one year to the next, but the BOC voted four years ago to set a cap on hours accrued at 240.
