The Apalachee High School volleyball team defeated Sequoyah in the opening round of the AAAAA state tournament Thursday. A Commerce man was arrested recently after a passerby called 9-1-1 to report that a white female was standing in a yard on Rogers Church Road yelling for help. Madison Co. SAT scores improve slightly

Madison County High School’s average SAT scores improved slightly between 2011 and 2012. A total of 148 Madison County students in the class of 2012 took the SAT and averaged 1379 on the three-part exam.
