Madison County to receive $543,000 for local roads

The state government has changed its method for allocating money for local roads. BOC chairman Anthony Dove reported Monday that Madison County will receive a $543,713 grant for 2013 through the Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG). YMCA patron nabs Jefferson woman for theft from his auto; police find evidence of multiple victims

A Jefferson woman was arrested in Winder Thursday night after being detained in the parking lot of the local YMCA by one of her alleged theft victims. Madison County commissioners postponed a decision Monday on whether some county employees could lose their excess vacation days.
