Barrow County voters on Election Day 2012 are contending with rain and cool temperatures outside the polls. The National Weather Service is calling for the rain to diminish to a few showers this afternoon, with total rainfall expected to be about a quarter of an inch. More than a third of Barrow County’s registered voters cast ballots ahead of tomorrow’s election. Barrow County elections supervisor Monica Franklin said 1,665 local residents voted in person on Friday, bringing the total number of advance voters to 12,074. The number of Barrow County residents voting in advance of the Nov. 6 elections surpassed the 10,000 mark Wednesday night. “Today we had 798 in-person for a total of 9,310 and a total of 777 absentee ballots,” said elections supervisor Monica Franklin Wednesday night.
