BRENAU cross country runner Brittany Aikens, a former Jackson County distance standout, has qualified for nationals for the second consecutive year. Aikens was the top runner for Brenau at Nov. 3 at the conference meet at Clinton, Miss., finishing second with a 19:12. She was just four seconds off the first-place pace. The Banks County Middle School Leopards competed this past Saturday in the toughest preseason tournament in the state, the Jr. Mountaineer Tournament in Dahlonega.
