JEFFERSON – Charles Finch, 80, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He was the son of the late Thomas A. and Lena Jacks Finch. Mr. Finch was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Hunter. Jefferson man among six killed over New Year holiday

A Jefferson man was among the six fatalities reported by the Georgia State Patrol over the 102-hour New Year’s holiday travel period. Brian Allan Churchill, 29, was killed around 11:50 a.m. Monday morning in Jackson County when he lost control of his 2008 BMW M3 on Benton Road, four miles west of Jefferson. Barrow County Emergency Services has met the federal narrow-banding deadline with a few days to spare.
