Possible rabid raccoon put down on Davenport Road

A possible rabid raccoon was reported at a Davenport Road in Braselton last week. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy responded to the address and found the complainant holding a flashlight on the animal that was beside the house curled up in a ball. Students make choice for new middle school name

More than 70 percent of students who in August will attend the new middle school in Statham want it to be named Bear Creek Middle School. Man arrested after leading law enforcement on chase

Danny Joe Fowler of Jackson County was arrested Tuesday evening after running from law enforcement officers when he was pulled over for a traffic violation on Hoods Mill Road near East Jackson Middle School.
