The Statham City Council has now turned the issue of Sunday alcohol sales over to the voters. Council members approved by a 3-2 vote Tuesday night to allow a March 6 vote on sale of beer and wine on Sundays in convenience stores.
Perry Barton, David Huth and Gayle Steed voted in favor with Hattie Thrasher and Betty Lyle against.
