Community & Southern Bank closing one Winder branch

The Carrollton-based bank that a year ago picked up all but a few of Peoples Bank’s properties is closing one of its Winder branches. Pat McGoldrick, director of business banking for Community and Southern Bank, said the branch at 279 N. Broad St. near the Ingles Market would close April 27.


Also on April 27, Community & Southern Bank will drop the name of the former Peoples Bank’s Latino division in metro Atlanta.

Branches of El Banco de Nuestra Comunidad (The Bank of Our Community) on that day will begin operating as branches of Community & Southern Bank.

In addition, three of the Latino branches will close – those in Forest Park, Roswell and Chamblee – and their operations will be merged with three remaining branches in Jonesboro, Woodstock and Norcross, McGoldrick said.

No other branch in or near Barrow County is being closed.
