The West Jackson Fire Department responded to the following incidents during the past two weeks:
•false alarm at a Ga. Hwy. 53, Braselton, address, where a fire alarm was unintentionally activated.
•smoke investigation on I-85, where a car was found off the interstate with its hood open. There was no fire or smoke showing from the vehicle. The car was overheated. Firefighters said everything was OK.
•assisting a motorist on I-85, where a tractor-trailer truck was located off the roadway. There was no fire, but firefighters said the rear wheels of the truck overheated and became stuck. Firefighters cooled down the truck by using a water can.
•gas spill at a Kings Drive, Braselton, address, where less than five gallons of gasoline were spilled by a vehicle parked on the side of a roadway. Firefighters used an oil-dry substance to contain the spill.
•steam investigation on I-85, where firefighters were told that there was steam, vapor, fog or dust that was thought to be smoke on I-85. Firefighters found an overheated vehicle parked off the roadway of the interstate. There was no fire coming from the vehicle.
•vehicle accident with injuries on Ga. Hwy. 53, Hoschton, where two vehicles were involved in an accident near Tapp Wood Road. There were no leaks or fires coming from the vehicles. The first vehicle had one injured passenger and the second vehicle had two injured passengers. Firefighters helped EMS crews put the passengers into ambulances. Two patients were taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-emergency status.
•EMS call at a Jackson Trail Road, Hoschton, address, where a man fainted and was lying in a bathroom. He wasn’t verbally responsive to firefighters, but would respond to pain. He was taken to a hospital.
•EMS call at a Ga. Hwy. 53, Braselton, address, where a woman reported experiencing tingling in her hands. Firefighters checked the woman’s vital signs and advised her to visit her doctor.
•EMS call at a New Liberty Church Road, Braselton, address, where a child had a seizure. The child was alert and looking around when emergency personnel arrived. She was taken to a hospital.
•vehicle accident on Ga. Hwy. 53, Braselton, where two vehicles were involved in an accident in front of the Pilot Travel Center. When firefighters arrived, the vehicles were off the roadway and in a parking lot. There were no injuries.
•false alarm at a Southampton Circle, Hoschton, address, where the occupants of a house said that they had been working in a residence, where a lot of dust was generated. There were no signs of a fire when firefighters checked the residence.
•vehicle accident at a Wehunt Road, Hoschton, address, where one car was found off of the roadway. A woman in the car said she was OK and didn’t want to go to a hospital. There were no signs of hazards or leaks coming from the vehicle.
•EMS call at a Main Street, Hoschton, address, where a parent said their toddler didn’t feel well. The child was taken to a hospital.
•EMS call at a Quail Run, Hoschton, address, where a patient was taken to a hospital for an illness not specified in an incident report.
