William Gordon (9-21-12)

MAYSVILLE - William Albert Gordon, 88, died Friday, September 21, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

He was born in Banks County, the son of the late Willie F. and Vassie Lewallen Gordon. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Gordon was a painting contractor. He was preceded in death by sons, Albert R. (Randy) Gordon and Hugh L. (Skeeter) Gordon.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Laretta Edwards Gordon, Maysville; daughter, Laretta G. Mason, Homer; brothers, Robert H. Gordon, Jonesboro, Winfred F. Gordon, Carnesville, Eugene Gordon, Mabelton, and Benny P. Gordon, Maysville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, September 24, at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Manus and Swayne Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
