The city of Ila is interested in connecting its water lines with county water lines to help bring down their fire rating.
Ila’s city council discussed the issue at its regular business meeting Sept. 10 and agreed to have Mayor Mike Coile meet with Madison County IDA executive director Marvin White to discuss installing water lines down Hwy. 98 from Neese-Commerce Road to connect to the city’s water system.
In other business, the city clerk reported that there will be no election in Ila on Nov. 6 since both incumbents, Don Freeman and Nathaniel Hobbs, are running with no opposition.
