JEFFERSON - Vivian Trammell Howington, 81, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012.
She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mattie Dowdy Trammell. Mrs. Howington was retired from the poultry business, worked as a seamstress for Wilkins Industries, and was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mrs. Howington was preceded in death by her husband, Alphus "Buddy" Howington; and son, Curtis Howington.
Survivors include children, Wilford (Kay) Howington, Diane (Felix) Austin, Rickey (Mac) Howington, Sandra (Vic) Beck, all of Jefferson, and Brenda Argo, Baton Rouge, La.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral home with the Revs. Jerry Smith, Dennis Kesler and Mike McLemore officiating. The burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial Park with her grandsons honored as pallbearers. The visitation will held on Monday, October 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
