A Jefferson man was arrested following a domestic dispute call last weekend where he tried to choke a basset hound at his Elrod Avenue apartment in front of his wife and 15-year-old stepchild. Robert Pilgrim, 43, has been charged with simple battery, cruelty to children, cruelty to animals, criminal trespass and battery in relation to the Oct. 6 incident.
