The Winder Police Department on Wednesday afternoon filed murder charges against twin Pensacola brothers suspected of killing the person whose remains were found buried under concrete in a Winder yard two days ago. William and Christopher Cormier, both 31, also were charged at 4 p.m. with concealing the death of another person, according to a WPD press release.
An autopsy Tuesday afternoon showed that the victim was killed by blunt-force trauma to the back of his head and that the approximate time of his death was a month ago. The medical examiner's office in Escambia County, Fla., is attempting to positively identify the remains. Pensacola police believe they are the remains of 30-year-old Sean Christopher Dugas, a Pensacola resident and former reporter for the Pensacola News Journal.
"Winder Police learned that the Cormier brothers were in fact acquaintances" of Dugas, who has been missing since Aug. 27, the press release states. "The Winder Police Department and the GBI will continue to work together to process existing evidence, gather additional evidence and follow leads as they develop," the press release states.
