The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in the Armed Robbery of two local businesses, the P&G Superette in Hoschton on September 13, and the Dollar General store in Talmo on October 4.
Richard Cullen Yurk, 26, Winder, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of commission of a crime by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of tools for the commission of crime,
one count of reckless conduct, one count of possession of firearm by a convicted felon and one count of windshield requirement violation.
While on patrol, Sgt D.G. Thomas stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and further investigation revealed that the vehicle and driver matched the description from the two previous robberies. The driver was arrested and a search warrant conducted on the vehicle where items were found connecting the suspect to the two armed robberies that had occurred in Jackson County, law enforcement officials report.
The investigation continues with armed robbery charges pending in Winder and Hall County.
