Joe Simmons (10-10-12)

JEFFERSON - Joe Simmons, 65, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012.

Mr. Simmons had resided in Jackson County most of his life and was the son of the late Clyde and Lola Mae Austin Simmons. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randyl N. Simmons. Mr. Simmons was a member of Union Baptist Church and attended the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve, a former volunteer of the Jackson Trail Fire Department, and was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Patrick Simmons; brothers, William A. (Donnis) Simmons, Mike L. (Jennifer) Simmons, Mark S. (Lori) Simmons; and sister-in-law, Kathy Simmons, all of Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Revs. Tillie Wellborn and Bill Hayes officiating. Burial will be in the House Family Cemetery.
