Colton Standridge reportedly responded to his parents by squeezing their hand over the weekend at Egleston Children's Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
On Monday, plans were to take him off of the sedatives he has been on since the accident on August 18 and see how he responds. He continues to have swelling of his brain with the degree of pressure fluctuating. He also reportedly had a temperature over the weekend.
Standridge, 13, received serious head injuries when he was struck by a car while driving a four-wheeler near Cabin Creek Road.
Colton is an eighth grader at EJMS. His father, Warren Standridge, is a coach and teacher at JCCHS. His mother, the former Tammy Booth, is a kindergarten teacher at East Jackson Elementary School. Both are graduates of JCCHS.

What is the Public Safety Policy pertaining to 4 wheelers?
I am so sorry this happened to this young boy. I hope it will be a lesson to others.
I don't know why people feel the need
to make such comments or give such
opinions at a time like this.
If you can't say anything nice then
don't say anything at all.
As a parent of 2 boys, my heart goes
out to this family. I hope and pray

insensitive comment regarding a 13 year old's tragic

tacky......

I could not imagine being a family member
of this child and reading such comments
that these "idiots" are writing. My heart breaks
for them when I sit here and read the
insenitive rubbish that some have written.
Goodness people, atleast say a prayer
for that poor child, his family and those in the car.

Colton had a pretty rough night. He is still off the breathing machine, but he had to be suctioned out many times through the night. Colton's breathing is very labored which caused an elevation in his blood pressure and pulse rate. He was given medication to relax him and slow his breathing. His respirations are in the 40-50's now, but they were as high as the 60's last night. The goal rate is somewhere in the mid 20's, and with that rate his blood pressure and pulse rate should come back down to normal also.
He hasn't woken up yet, and it will be awhile before he does.
He is resting well right now and there is talk of some more tests today and his neck brace being removed.
Please continue to pray for Colton's breathing to become less labored and any tests will have positive results.
If you could please remember in your prayers a little girl named Olivia. She came in yesterday with massive head trauma sustained after being run over by an armored truck while getting on a bus to Tucker middle school.
Thank you for your prayers and your faith in our healing Lord and Savior.

Praise the Lord! Colton has been off the breathing machine since
around 2:45pm this afternoon. He is doing so great! He is one tough
little man. He is getting some oxygen through a nasal cannula. He is
very congested and has been coughing some. There is talk of a Dr.
from Scottish Rite coming over tomorrow and meeting with Warren and
Tammy about his therapy that will take place there in the future.
Colton has a little bit of temperature now, but they feel it will come
down when his breathing slows to not such a rapid pace. We are still
waiting on him to wake up from all the sedatives that they have given
him today. We are sure he is tired from a busy and stressful day.
Thank you all for your prayers and faith in God to heal our precious Colton.

PRAISE THE LORD ~ GREAT NEWS!!
Thank you dear God!! Colton's CT scan came back very positive. Both the left and right sides of the brain look normal with just a little bit of swelling.
The doctors are taking the drain tube out of his head at this moment! They are waiting on him to wake up more before they take the breathing tube out. He is still sedated from the medication and we are not sure how long it will be before he wakes up.
His temperature is also normal! Everything is looking so much better, but please keep praying. As you can see PRAYER WORKS!
Warren and Tammy also look and sound the best that they've been since this happened. Please praise God for continuing to work this MIRACLE on our little man.
I hope you all realize the magnitude and impact of your prayers. You have faithfully poured your heart out to the Lord, and every healing we have asked of our heavenly Father for Colton has been answered. The mercy poured out on the Standridges is such a testiment to how our God LOVES this family and loves all of us.
