The Winder City Council meets today, Nov. 12, for its regular monthly work session to discuss items scheduled for action tomorrow, Nov. 13. Both meetings are at 6 p.m. at the Winder Community Center at 113 E. Athens St.
Action items include approval of six annexation requests by owners of county properties. The requests are for 23.3 acres on Punkin Junction Road east of the intersection of Carter Hill Church Road with A-1 zoning; 3.47 acres at 312 Punkin Junction Road with A-1 zoning; 1.19 acres at 805 Lodgeview Drive with R-1A (single family medium density residential) zoning; 1.21 acres at 853 Lodgeview Drive with R-1A zoning; 1.15 acres at 851 Lodgeview Drive with R-1A zoning; and .60 acres at 849 Lodgeview Drive with R-1A zoning.
Among the other items slated for action by the city council Tuesday night are:
•a $45,962 contract with Po Boys Plumbing for the replacement of 1,900 linear feet of the Highway 53 Transmission Line with 24-inch pipe.
•authorization for the mayor to sign an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to spend up to $50,000 to improve the intersection at the railroad crossing at Beulah Street.
•acceptance of a $7,980 bid from Allgood Plumbing to connect buildings on East Athens Street to a new sewer main.
•the paving of Jackson Street from the railroad tracks to the first entrance at City Hall.
