Mary Elizabeth Evans (11-13-12)

COMMERCE - Mary Elizabeth Evans, 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at her residence.

Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Annie Mae Garrison Bolton. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Evans; and siblings, Thomas Eugene Bolton, Etheleen Bolton Adams and John Calvin Bolton.

Survivors include sons, Harold (Brenda) Evans, Winder, and Jeff (Rhonda Monday) Evans, Commerce; grandchildren, Hara (Deric) Sauls, Jennifer (Andy) Carter, and Jamie Evans; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Eli Sauls and Allison and Anna Carter; a brother, George (Ruth) Bolton, Maysville; sisters, Geraldine Adams, Commerce, and Annie "Deedie" (Howard) Turner, Maysville; step-grandchildren, Cassie Monday, Derrek (Ashley), Andrea (Eric) Parr and Tommy Tench; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 16, at 3 p.m. from the Homer Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Crabbe officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. Mrs. Evans will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
