JEFFERSON - James Edward McColskey, 76, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012.
He was born in Whiteville, N.C., the son of the late Steven and Georgia Alma Williamson McColskey. He was retired from the United States Navy, serving in the Vietnam War, and later worked as an auto mechanic. Mr. McColskey was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Jefferson.
Survivors include sons, Steve (Nedra) McColskey, Jefferson, and Wade McColskey, Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Nancy (Jay) Nobles, Florence, S.C.; brother, Neal McColskey, Greenville, S.C.; sister, Jewell Green, Whiteville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike McLemore officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial Park with Kyle Kashuba, Jeremy McColskey, Wesley Simonton, Tanner Thurmond, Aaron Anderson and Josh Harris honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
