David Williams (11-21-12)

COMMERCE - David Oswald Williams, Jr., 66, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Raleigh, N.C., the son of the late David Oswald and Bernice Wheeler Williams, Sr. He was retired from the Civil Service and United States Army Reserve, a member and Deacon of Middle River Baptist Church, and the Masonic Lodge # 292 F&A.M.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Sue Woodall Williams, Commerce; daughters, Lori Browning, Reidsville, N.C., and Beth Hughes, Hoschton; sons, David Oswald Williams, III, Buford, and Matthew Williams, Commerce; brother, Roy Williams, Hertford, N.C.; sisters, Judy Barnes, Pensacola, Fla., Sharon Wickham, Granite City, Fla., Kathy Johnson, Portsmouth, Va., and Doris Atwell, Sanford, N.C.; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 24, at 1 p.m. from the Middle River Baptist Church with the Rev. Jermone Hill officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
