AUGUSTA - Mary Anna Freeman Bordon, wife of the Rev. Paul E. Bordon, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2012.
Mary was born in Krugersdorp, South Africa, May 19, 1936. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dallas D. Freeman, who served as pioneer missionaries in South Africa from 1924 to 1964. Mary grew up and was educated in South Africa. She left South Africa in 1953 to attend Holmes Bible College in Greenville, S.C. She graduated from Holmes in 1959. She taught at the college for one year.
She met her husband of 52 years from Bayamo, Cuba, at Holmes and married him in 1961. Together they pastored churches at Lakeside Pentecostal Holiness Church in Greenwood, S.C. (5 years), Grendel PH, Greenwood, S.C. (10 years), and South Augusta PH, Augusta, (14 years). She was devoted to her calling to minister as a pastor's wife. She talked about her faith in Christ on a daily basis. She spent many hours of each day in prayer right up to the end when she joined her sister, Florine Duncan, brother, John Freeman, her mom and dad, and her savior Jesus Christ. Mary always put her savior, Jesus Christ, first in her life.
She was a loving and supportive wife to her husband and dear mother to her children. She loved attending activities of her three grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she guided them by her Christian example. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at church functions.

(Brenda) Bordon of Martinez, and Dallas Bordon, Colbert; three grandchildren, Paul Jonathan Bordon and Britt Emily Bordon, both of Martinez, and Hannah Madison Bordon, Colbert; two nieces, Martha Ann Carey, Tulsa, Okla., and Cheryl Turner, missionary in South Africa; and one nephew, the Rev.
