JEFFERSON built a 27-14 halftime lead over Greater Atlanta Christian Friday and then put a dagger in the Spartans in the second half in a 42-14 victory in the Class AA semifinals.
The Dragons (13-1) move on to their first state championship game in 35 years next Saturday at the Georgia Dome. Jefferson will face defending state champion Calhoun (14-0), which beat Lamar 21-14 Friday.
Jefferson and Calhoun met last year in the first round of the Class AA playoff with the Yellow Jackets winning 39-6.
In the Dragons' win Friday, Bryant Shirreffs had another huge night, throwing for 141 yards on 10-of-13 passing and a touchdown and running for 134 yards and two touchdowns, including a 52-yarder.
Wesley Simonton led the Dragons defensively with 14 tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack. Tradd Porter also had a huge night with 13 tackles and a tackle for loss. Hanon Price and Kody McDonald also had 10 tackles.
