Gloria Power (12-8-12)

DANIELSVILLE - Gloria Elizabeth Power, 84, wife of the late Dewey Ralph "Doc" Power, Sr., died Saturday, December 8, 2012.

A native of Orlando, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Charles DeForrest and Katherine Fussell Decker. She worked at GMAC in Athens prior to her marriage and the birth of her children. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include children and their spouses, Kathy (James) McCay, Ila, Ralph (Peggy) Power, Danielsville, and Carol (Jeff) Sapp, Athens; grandchildren, LeAnn McCay Kidd, Jason McCay, Daniel McCay, Jessica Power, Fred Power, Stephanie Power, Lauren Cash, Todd Sapp, Jr., Vince Sapp, and Jake Sapp; and one great-grandson, Henry Cash.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 12, at 3 p.m. at Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Morris Sapp and Teresa Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends also on Wednesday, December 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank their mother's caretakers at Heaven's Garden Senior Care in Hamilton Mill and the staff at Saint Mary's Hospice House for their kind and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice or Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
