WINDER – Cynthia Denise Thompson, 48, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012.
She was the daughter of Peggy Overton of Winder and the late James O’Neal Overton. She was a 1981 graduate of Winder Barrow High School, was employed by the State of Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice as a transportation officer, and was employed by the Barrow County Detention Center for over 20 years.
Survivors in addition to her mother include a son, Jonathan Thompson, Winder; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Marie and Greg Corradino, Pinehurst, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Renea and Dr. Thomas Britt, Easley, S.C.; granddaughter, Gabriella Rose Corradino; and nieces, Alaina Casey and Nikala Farmer.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 22, at 4 p.m. in Smith Memory Chapel with John Talley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
