Some of the players were different, but there was no absence of political drama at Tuesday night’s inaugural meeting of the newly seated Barrow County Board of Commissioners. In the first major action of its four-year term, the board’s vote was divided along the lines of new versus old over the county attorney's contract.
In two 4-3 votes split along the line of old commissioners vs. new commissioners, the BOC voted to extend the contract of the county attorney until Sept. 30 and after that, appoint the county attorney on a fiscal year basis rather than calendar year.
