Harold Norton (1-13-13)

NICHOLSON - Harold Michael Norton, 65, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013.

He was born in Woolsey, the son of the late Harold and Archie Jones Norton. Mr. Norton was an estimator for Shumate Mechanical and was a member of the Nicholson Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Mr. Norton was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce King.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Deeson Norton, Nicholson; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jay Maiers, Buford; stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Christa Naylor, Sarasota, Fla.; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Page Brooks, Jefferson; grandchildren, Reis Brooks, Ivie Brooks, and Caleb Brooks; and a sister, Betty Johnson, Sharpsburg.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 16, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Stuart Lang officiating. The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens with Bob Siemer, David Naylor, Billy Johnson Jr., Jay Maiers, Page Brooks, and Greg Hart honored as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hollingsworth, Pete Dills, Charles Pittman, Mickey Whatley, Doug Lee, Rufus Vascuu, Charlie Brown, Chris Gregory, and Pat Patterson. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Odyssey Hospice, Wounded Warriors, WRAF Radio Stations, or the David Jeremiah Ministries.
