The criminal investigation of Winder’s utility billing operations nabbed a former assistant supervisor of meter readers, but it did not result in criminal charges against the former director of the department.
In response to an inquiry from the newspaper, Winder police Major Jim Fullington said Tuesday that Dawn Reidling is not facing any criminal charges.
“After discussing the details of the investigation with investigators, District Attorney Brad Smith stated there was not sufficient evidence at this time to pursue any criminal charges against Ms. Dawn Reidling,” wrote Fullington, who was the special agent in charge of the GBI’s Athens office during last year’s investigation.
