Barbara Cowart (1-20-12)

DANIELSVILLE – Barbara Delores Cowart went home to be with her Lord Sunday, January 20, 2013.

She was born June 24, 1936, in Athens, the daughter of the late Mabel Parrish and Oscar Lester. Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Cowart.

Survivors include her longtime companion, Marvin Giles; three sons, Bill (Evelyn) Cowart and Rick (Shevonda) Cowart, both of Lexington, and Terry (Kathy) Cowart, Comer; a daughter, Susan Cowart Patrick, Danielsville; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 23, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with the Rev. William Anglin officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, January 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
