Winder city officials are considering a move that once ignited a major City Hall controversy. But this time, the funding for the alleviation of a longstanding eyesore would not come from a multi-million-dollar federal loan to be paid back over the next 40 years. The new administration would pay cash. The goal now is similar to what it was in 2010, and that is to relocate the city’s public works and utility departments from their 5-acre site off West May Street to a portion of the 350 undeveloped acres the city owns off Miles Patrick Road.
