FLOWERY BRANCH - Ellen Arminta Harndon, 89, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013, at New Horizons Lanier Park, following an extended illness.
She was born February 13, 1923, the daughter of the late Mitchell and Myrtle Mayes in Lock Haven, Pa. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She had been the kitchen service manager at Lodge on the Green. Mrs. Harndon was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Harndon.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Nancy Harndon and Larry and Addie Reedy, all of Painted Post, N.Y.; daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Tom Corey, Flowery Branch, and Sharon and Randy Maynard, Painted Post, N.Y.; daughter Pamela Harndon, Painted Post, N.Y.; stepdaughters and husbands, Janice and Gary Campbell, Painted Post, N.Y., and Bonnie and Edward Butler, Elmira, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, February 2, at Hopewell Baptist Church, 5086 Poplar Springs Rd., Gainesville. The Revs. Gary Wilson and Wayne Bryant will officiate. Inurnment will be at Coopers Plaines Cemetery, 520 Victory Highway, Painted Post, NY 14870.
