Mat Bulldoggs defeat Apalachee

The Winder-Barrow High School wrestling team edged Apalachee High School 42-39 at the Best of Barrow event Tuesday.

Victories by the Mat Bulldoggs came at 106 (Gavin Pieneiasek); 132 (Landon McFarland); 152 (Trey Killings); 170 (Stephen Head); 182 (Dalton Crowe) and 285 (Agustin Salas).

Victories by AHS included 126 (Nick Zvirbulis); 138 (Trent Dobbs); (145) Justin Skinner; (160) Trey Dobbs and 220 (Matt Moore).

WBHS won by forfeit at 113 and 195 while AHS took forfeit points at 120.

Both teams will compete at the traditional area duals Friday and Saturday at Flowery Branch.
