Afternoon buses back in service

The Barrow County School System suspended bus service at 2:30 p.m. because of the severe weather but the buses began operating again at 4:30 p.m., according to the school system's website.

"This will place students home about 2 hours later than normal," the website states.

Also canceled were afternoon basketball games at Oconee County Middle School and at Malcolm Bridge Middle School.
