LULA - Melvin John Boring, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at his residence.
Born in San Francisco, Calif. on January 28, 1935, he was a son of the late James H. and Evelyn Ruth Clark Boring. He was retired from Lee Arrendale Correction Institute and was a United States Navy veteran, where he served two years during the Korean Conflict. He was a painter who also enjoyed knife making and cooking.
Survivors include wife of 42 years, Pauline Guyton Boring, Lula; a daughter, Tina King, Lula; brothers, Edward Boring, Wilmington, N.C., Ulysses S. Boring, Miami, Fla., and James S. Boring, Lula; grandchildren, John Longan and Heather Moore, both of Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Meagan Moore, Camden Longan and Dane Longan, all of Oklahoma;
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
