LULA – Gregory “Greg” Martin Baker, 38, passed away at a local area hospital Thursday, January 31, 2013, following an extended illness.
He was born in Gainesville on March 9, 1974, the son of Winford M. and Phyllis Baker. He was a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church. Before becoming disabled 15 years ago, Greg was a security guard with EKG Security.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Tammi Baker; a daughter, Destiny Baker; son, Kody Baker; stepsons, Hunter Stewart, Craig Evans, and Tyson "Fat Boy" Stewart, all of Lula; sister, Gina Wilson, Commerce; mother of his children and Greg's friend, Tiny White, Pendergrass; and a very special niece, Keshia Wilson, Maysville.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 2, at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with Mr. Tommy Herbert officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Perry Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 1, at Whitfield Funeral Home.
